Hypothesis: I believe that the tub with the earthworms with help the plants to grow taller and more plentiful than the plants in the tub without the worms because they create enough nutrients and fertilizer for the plants.
Materials:
Two big plastics tubs
Soil
Water
Eartworms
Beans
Ruler, Magnifying Glass, Other tools for observing plants
Procedure:
1. Fill the two tubs with soil.
2. Pour water into tubs with soil, and allow water to sink in for about 5-10 minutes. Get the soil very moist.
3. Place the Earthworms in one tub, and leave the other tub without worms. Give the worms time to burrow themselves for a couple of hours.
4. Bury 3 beans about an inch deep into each tub.
5. Place the tubs in the sunlight and allow plants to grow for 2 weeks.
6. Use the ruler to examine the hieght of the plants in each tub. Use the magnifying glass to see if there are any distinctions in the color or patterns in leaves. Use any other tools to take note of any differences in any of the plants and come to a conclusion about wether earthworms affect a plants growth or not.
