•Earthworms are r-strategists. After a couple of worms mate with each other, each worm produce cocoons with a high quantity of eggs that are left to develop without the care of its parents.

•It can take 3 weeks to 5 months for eggs to hatch. It depends on temperature and soil moisture.
•Each cocoon can hold from 1-20 worm offspring
•Earthworms can produce 3 to 80 cocoons per year.
